Remote Subsidy

Remote Subsidy Grant

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting remote teachers and students, HTANSW offers a "Remote Subsidy Grant" to a set number of rural schools each year to facilitate their attendance at the annual HTANSW HSC History Study Days.

The Grant

  • Offers up to $1000 in transport/accommodation subsidy
  • Applications will be accepted from schools more than 300 km from Sydney
  • Applying teachers or their school must be CURRENT MEMBERS of HTANSW
  • Combined applications - where two or more schools share transport, are encouraged
  • Students will need to pay the admission fee for the Study Days
  • Previous successful applicants may re-apply, but will be given a lower priority

Criteria

A number of criteria were considered in the selection process including:

  • The distance of the school from Sydney
  • The remoteness of the school
  • Maximum of 2 schools from any one area (North Coast, South Coast, North West, South West, West)
  • Length of membership with the HTANSW
  • Previous support of the HSC Study Days
