2023 State Conference Call for Papers

We are excited to be hosting our first face-to-face State Conference since 2019. The event will be held at Loreto Kirribilli on 13-14 July 2023 and we are pleased to announce that our keynote speakers include Professor Sam Wineburg (Stanford University, USA) and Professor Ann McGrath (Australian National University, Canberra) with more to be added shortly.

As has long been HTANSW tradition, the 2023 State Conference program will also include a wide range of sessions delivered by teachers from all school sectors, professional historians and education academics who have been successful in responding to our call for papers.

We will be aiming to create a diverse program covering Stage 4-6 History in all its forms including senior Ancient, Modern and Extension History. We are also interested in broader sessions including (but not limited to) First Nations histories, History in the digital age (ChatGPT), leading a History/HSIE faculty, historical thinking and innovative pedagogies.

If you are interested in responding to our call for papers for this event, please ensure that you read the guidelines carefully first, and then submit your response using the Google Form that we have created.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the event in July.
