Hatshepsut’s reign, while remarkable for its many innovations, was also deeply rooted in tradition. In developing and consolidating the concept of Egyptian kingship, Hatshepsut looked not only to earlier New Kingdom traditions, but also back to many time-honoured conventions of the Old and Middle Kingdoms. This webinar will consider some significant aspects of continuity and change in her reign.
